According to rabbinic tradition, the
practice of 'letters sharing' is demonstrated in the story of
the changing of the name of Abram to Abraham. The rabbis
teach God Inserted His own Name into Abrams name thus imbuing
Abrams name with creative power. R. Nehemiah said, "The
Holy One, Blessed be He, united His Name with Abraham".
