Genesis 2:7-8 a Study of OriginsHere’s the text:
At first glance the story seems simple enough. The theme of the story in the ‘pashat’[1] i.e., literal read is about God creating man – His method of forming man, enlivening man and then establishing man, in the paradisiacal garden located in Eden.
A lovely story in itself.Yet there is much more to this story, a great deal more. This is because there is another story embedded into and layered in upon the pashat. This second story focuses upon another Being, One Who is Divine. The text itself reveals His Name, which at the time when Moses transcribed[2] God’s dictation, this Name was known only to God. Today His Name is known almost universally, it is Yeshua, Jesus.[3]
The clue[4] to there being something more to the story is found in the first word in the text, וייצר, vayyitser – (and He formed). Rabbis have found it needful to explain the unusual spelling of this word which incorrectly contains two letters yud י. The rabbis say, ‘ such spelling anomalies must mean something’. While one rabbi explains the ‘double yud’ to denote the seventh and ninth month of pregnancy[5] and another rabbi says the double yud denotes the two inclinations in man (one toward good the other toward evil).[6] We nevertheless find in the Tractate Berakoth of the Babylonian Talmud 61a., T.S. 2, 113, the statement,
“(this)….. scripture writes ‘vayyitser’ with the letter yud repeated to signify a double creation”.
What can this mean, a double creation? The answer to this question is astonishing and has a great deal to do with the Hebrew word ‘Bereshit’[7] - בְּרֵאשִׁית – creation. The literal meaning of this word is ‘origin’. Please keep in mind as we go through this chapter, that the subject ‘on the table’, in the pashat read, is about the origin of the very ‘first things’ we find in the Bible. Hence, the book of Genesis- בראשית is properly called the book of Origin and the double yud found in the term וייצר, vayyitser suggests it speaks not about a double creation, but rather it speaks of double origins.
More precisely, as you will see, the theme God sets forth is Genesis 2:7-8 concerns both the origin of humankind and the Revelation concerning the origin and Holy Ministry of the Begotten of the Father - the very Word of God, Who later incarnated into the creation becoming Yeshua the Messiah.
About the Messiah, the overlaid text in Genesis 2:7-8 also reveals His eternal Messianic purpose; to wit, He is revealed to be the Lamb of God, the Blood Sacrifice of the guilt offering, and the One incarnated of a human virgin named Mary. The text also reveals Him to be the very ‘One’ that pious Jewish faithful have throughout the ages referred to as ‘HaShem’.[8]
Amazingly, all this is clearly revealed in the letters of the text.
In the overlaid text of Genesis our Sovereign God reveals a story within a story. He reveals events which have their origins in eternity and their glorious consummations upon the craggy rocks of Golgotha. Sublimely concealed within the simple story depicted in the Pashat text, a story which seems to be nothing more than brief catalog of events – albeit Divine events - occurring over a mere speck of time in ‘ages past’, is the Holy mystery of God’s Messiah revealed to us and for us to ponder in awestruck humility.
How gracious is our God, that before the first moment of the creation, He, foreknowing the fall of human kind resulting in humanity’s’ eternal separation from Him had in Mind the Messiah Whom He foreordained to become the perfect atoning sacrifice reconciling fallen Adam,[9] to Himself. In this, Messiahs Holy and eternal work, each one of us again has the possibility of becoming heirs of the kingdom which is from above and restoration as sons and daughters of our heavenly Father.
The Text
Here again is the text we are working with in this chapter. The text on the right hand side appears as it would be found in any Hebrew English study bible. The text on the left hand side is nothing more than a simple ‘box alignment’ of the letters contained in these two short verses. [10]
Instantly, the name Yeshua ישוע i.e., Jesus, is clearly presented twice for the readers consideration.Shocked? Anyone reading this should be shocked! Contained in this simple story is Yeshua’s Name clearly spelled out two times! How often is it that you witness anything so clear and direct that you are left with no option but to say, ‘God’s Hand is in this’. By the time the reader finishes this chapter there will remain no doubt that the double inclusion of Yeshua’s name in the text is deliberate. The implications of this fact are absolutely astounding for all - be they atheists, agnostics, non-Christians or even believers in Yeshua, the Messiah. The ImplicationsThe implications are astounding because here is proof, scientifically verifiable proof, the Name of Yeshua has been deliberately embedded into and concealed within the text of Genesis 2:7-8.The science about which I speak is the science of mathematics probabilities. It leaves you, as a reader, zero options to explain how this revelation happens to exist in these verses ‘just accidentally’. Finding Yeshua’s name ‘just one time’ in this short text block, correctly spelled, outrageously challenges the laws of probabilities. But, finding it twice in the very story in which Christians agree He played the major role goes well past any possibility of chance happening. The science of statistics probabilities has just ‘proven’ Yeshua’s Name is in the text ‘on purpose’. And remember, this is just our starting point! As for what follows, there is zero possibility that the additional revelations discussed in this chapter are chance happenings.Since this is the case, the atheist and the agnostic are now confronted with ‘the evidence’ they have been demanding, saying, ‘show us scientific proof that God exists’. They can no longer say, ‘there is no proof’. The science of statistics probabilities cannot demonstrate the inclusion of Yeshua’s Name in this text is mere coincidence. Science does, however, support the opposing view; that, ‘Yeshua’s Name has been deliberately inserted into the text in an obvious cryptographic fashion.
Of course the Christian believer is also impacted by these proofs. Perhaps his or her faith needed strengthening, or perhaps a call to repentance over sin might be in order. And if they are looking for a method to evangelize those who require evidence that can be substantiated by science, they now have what they need. Also, regarding any well-intentioned people who worship outside the Christian faith, here is a call to heed God’s invitation to consider what is laid out before your eyes. Consider the amazing truth, the God of the Christians and the Jews is revealing Himself to you today in a manner which transcends any possibility of refutation. And finally, I turn to our Jewish readers. I certainly am aware that this study is problematic for you - especially in considering the fact that Jewish teaching opines as to how the five Books of Moses came into being in the first place. You have been taught the entire Torah – תורה – (the first five books of Moses) was dictated to Moses by God – letter by painstaking letter. The Torah was originally dictated from God to Moses, letter for letter. Midrash (Devarim Rabba 9:4) “Before his death, Moses wrote 13 Torah Scrolls. Twelve of these were distributed to each of the 12 Tribes. The 13th was placed in the Ark of the Covenant (with the Tablets). If anyone would come and attempt to rewrite or falsify the Torah, the one in the Ark would “testify” against him. (Likewise, if he had access to the scroll in the Ark and tried to falsify it, the distributed copies would “testify” against him.)”[11]Concerning Torah accuracy:
There is a famous story in the Talmud (Eruvin 13a):When Rabbi Meir came to Rabbi Yishmael to learn Torah, he was asked: “What is your profession, my son?” “I am a scribe,” was the reply. He said to me: “My son, be careful with your work, for it is the work of Heaven. Should you perhaps omit one letter or add one letter—it could result that you destroy the entire world[12]
Maharsha (16th century Poland) explains there is a danger even if the error does not affect the meaning of the word. This is because of a Kabbalistic tradition that the letters of the Torah form the sacred Names of God written as “black fire upon white fire.” These letters were employed by God in creating the world, and it is through them that He sustains it. The deletion of even one letter of this sustaining force therefore threatens the existence of the world.
Carefully guarding the words of the Torah has been a Jewish priority throughout the centuries.[13]
Therefore the obvious question to ask is: “Why would God dictate His text – ‘letter by letter’ in such a way that with nothing more than a simple 'box alignment' of the letters, the Person of Yeshua is revealed and several core Christian teachings are now shockingly evidenced in the very act of the creation of mankind”?So there is a riddle to be solved here. However, it’s really not such a tough riddle to solve, is it? The answer is obvious. The real problem is this; you have to make a decision concerning the Person and work of Yeshua. You will have to decide if what is laid out before your eyes is deliberately embedded in the text by God. And if you decide that what you have seen thus far has been lovingly secreted into the text by your heavenly Father (for you to discover at this time) you will have to make decisions which will probably put you at odds with family and friends. You will have to believe Yeshua holds a special place in the Heart of the Father. You will have to accept Him as Messiah, and the Father’s ‘Only Begotten’. This will be difficult for you. Yet, your decision has a spiritual dimension of eternal significance. Along with your decision comes the gift of the redemption of sin and everlasting salvation freely granted by the Father to all who trust in His Son.If you are tempted to lay this book down consider the fact; your forefathers, at the foot of Sinai, also rejected the evidence before their eyes. They wanted no part of what was happening on the mountain. They made a golden calf – the mountain shook, trees were leveled and the voice of God exploded off the mountain side – and they worshipped a golden calf! Moreover, they paid a dreadful price for their sin. Again, in the desert, though the sea parted, food fell from the sky, the poison of serpents was made of no effect, water flowed from stone, fire and smoke ever before their eyes, and the conquest of Canaan falling into their laps, yet they were ever grumbling - then came the ‘baals’ and they turned from God as though all the evidences that went before never happened or was a myth. Over and over, the history of Israel is the story of ‘this stiff - necked people’ rejecting their God.Then, they met the One I refer to as, ‘God the Son’. In the days of Yeshua many, but not all, of your fathers saw His miracles and denied the authorship thereof. The lepers were cleansed, the deaf made to hear, the blind given sight, the cripple and infirm made whole, water to wine, bread in the wilderness and the dead returning to life – these things they rejected and hanged Him upon the tree even as the prophets prophesized and your sages acknowledged. In His death the miracles continued. The ‘veil of separation’ was rent in your temple, rent from top to bottom – from heaven to earth – it was rent in twain. At that fearsome moment the ground shook, lightning and thunders were torn from the heavens terrifying all. The sun was turned to darkness and the dead came forth from their graves walking about and visiting many in the city. All that could be said was said by one man, a Roman soldier and gentile pagan, a man who believed the evidence before his eyes and in his hearing. He said, ‘surely this is the Son of God’. And so, here we are today – facing the same God presenting evidences which cannot be denied. The question is…, ‘what will you decide’?Your people passed judgment upon Him who is the judge of the living and the dead. Your people were exiled to the far reaches of the earth suffering unimaginable torments; and now, your God has restored you to your homeland as the prophets foretold. Your restoration has apocalyptic significance because at this very moment judgment has again come unto you. Divine evidences your forbearers rejected are once again being offered – this time in black ink on white book paper. They are offered not to your nation at large, but to you individually. The time of your fathers is now past and the Lord declares to you a new day, the day of your encounter with the Living Torah, Yeshua. Redemption is freely offered to all, but the question is, ‘who will accept the gift’? “… the lion has roared, who will not fear?” Amos7:8Beyond the ProbabilitiesThe next several charts will take you beyond any possibility of mere coincidence being at work in our study. You are now invited to Behold the Revelations of the Most High God – revealed in His Torah – letter by letter.I’ll start with the Revelation you have already seen.
Yeshua’s unmistakable presence at the creation of humankind is obvious to all who will look at the text overlaid upon the Pashat story. Moreover, Yeshua’s Name is an essential element of that very story. In fact His Name Alone comprises approximately eight percent of the text. Although His Name being encrypted into the account of the creation of humanity might be challenging to some readers, one cannot simply expunge Yeshua’s name from the story for the sake of political correctness. Obvious? – perhaps. Yet this is an important point. Jewish exegetes teach that each and every letter contained in these verses is sacred. They simply cannot alter the Torah for reasons of political correctness – they must consider the information which is now before their eyes and this information presents Yeshua’ unmistakable presence.
Consider the challenge this fact presents to rabbis, Torah scholars and Jewish faithful everywhere. Here in the Torah is Yeshua’s Name twice encrypted into the text and easily revealed in a simple box alignment of the letters. The Names are written in the form of a mirror imaged pattern and they are conjoined to each other by a Hebrew pictogram[14] which reads, ‘God revealed יהי ‘!
Again, both occurrences of Yeshua’s Name are presented in the text as conjoined mirror images connected one to the other by a pictogram stating ‘God Revealed!
So now our basic question becomes more urgent, more pointed:
“Why would God dictate His text – ‘letter by letter’ in such a way that with nothing more than a simple 'box alignment' of the letters, the Person of Yeshua is revealed and several core Christian teachings are now shockingly evidenced in the very story of the creation of mankind”?Why indeed?
There is an obvious hermeneutical[15] inference[16] which can be made at this point namely, God wants His ‘chosen people’ to reconsider their opinions about the Being we refer to as Yeshua.
Revealed: Yahweh and Yeshua are in some sense OneHe is Messiah. We’ll have more to say about this in a moment. Remove the Names Yeshua from the text and essentially you have removed eight percent of the total letters in Gen. 2:7-8 (and according to the sages, you have also destroyed the universe).
Obviously the verses would fall apart were all these letters to be removed. Moreover, the removal of Yeshua’s name also removes the Tetragrammaton,[17] God’s Name, from the story as well since both Yeshua’s Name and Yahweh’s Name are inter connected at the letter Vav –ו . Each shares this letter in the spellings of both their Names.[18]
I refer to this letter sharing as an ‘inextricable connection’. This ‘inextricable connection’ the Jewish exegetes would say, ‘has to mean something’; and, it does. It means something very obvious. The rabbinic conclusion would be, ‘because the letters of both Their Names cannot be separated,“in some sense, Both are One’.
Herein is the Mystery of the ages being revealed in your sight.[19] Both Yahweh and Yeshua are One yet both are unique. Yeshua is, in fact, ‘God revealed’. He - is - ‘God revealed’. Pause for a moment to allow this revelation to sink in and take root in your soul.
Letter Sharing
It would seem natural for some to object saying, ‘exegetical comments’ based solely on such things as letter sharing, or letters removal, seems a bit contrived’; but, as any ‘old testament’ exegete will tell you, this method, as I have employed it, perfectly agrees with acceptable rabbinic practice. For example, in the Midrash Rabbah[20] on Genesis, concerning God’s renaming of Abram, is included this noteworthy comment from the renowned Jewish exegete R. Nehemiah,
“The Holy One, blessed be He, united His Name with Abraham”.
Note, the sages reference in this example concerns God uniting His name to Abram’s. This, God does via the process of letter sharing. As just mentioned, the reference is the changing of the Name from Abram to Abraham when Abram accepts circumcision as a sign of the covenant established between himself and God. The Holy One, May He be Blessed, inserts the letter ‘hey - ה’ into Abrams name. Abram now becomes, due to his willingness to obey God, evidenced in the cutting of his own flesh and the shedding of his own blood, the one who now is, in some sense, transformed in his person ‘to be’ a bearer of grace and blessing. He becomes the one who manifests Gods abiding presence: He is now Abraham. In this regard Abrahams name now does double duty. Remove the ‘hey’ and the patriarch goes back to being just a ‘regular kinda’ guy. Insert the ‘hey’ and Abraham’s name identifies both, the person of the patriarch, just as any name identifies it’s bearer, and also reveals Abraham as the ‘one’ who is in his ‘being’ the bearer of the indwelling God and ‘the blessing of the Most High’. The obvious typological connection to the obedient Messiah can also be made at this point as well. Furthermore, a great portion of Jewish mysticism, Kabbalah[21] and Zohar[22] involves letters substitutions, letters swapping and letters re-arranging. So I am not doing anything novel as regarding accepted theological practice in so far as Jewish sensibilities are concerned.
Therefore, again looking at the box aligned text, there can be no doubt the incarnated Yeshua[23] enjoys an inextricable unity within the Divine Oneness יהוה אלהימ – Yahweh Elohim.
Revealed here is the teaching Yeshua and The Lord God are One in terms of an ‘Inextricable Unity’. In a real sense, according to the Jewish sages, the connection between ‘enmeshed words’ is seen as an ‘ontological unity’, i.e., a unity in terms of ‘being-ness hence, essence’. Both are ‘one in essence and undivided’[24].
Revealed: The Nature of the Holy Unity We may ask, ‘what is the nature of this unity?’ This is a pretty bold question isn’t it? In fact the sages teach that this is a realm which must not be explored. To do so is sin and the height of human arrogance! And, had God not revealed these teachings – thus instructing us in this most precious knowledge, I would not have dared to raise the question in the first place. While the idea of the Holy Unity is not foreign to Christians it certainly is difficult to even partially understand; and most likely, it will make our Jewish readers uneasy. It’s ironic, however, the idea of the Holy unity really isn’t foreign to them either. In fact, nowhere in the scripture can it be found that God’s Name suggests any thing other than a Plurality - presumably of Person - within a singularity of Godhead.[25] Even the great prayer of Judaism, the Shema[26], speaks of a unity which is plural, i.e., One God Who is plural. The very word which states that “He is One”, i.e., חדא echad, is the same word used to describe the one flesh in marriage when obviously there are two persons involved. I’d suggest to our Jewish readers to ask their rabbis to ascertain this fact is correct.
The Holy Unity is the principle theological dividing point between Christians and Jews. It divides us not so much as regarding the subject of plurality within the unity of Godhead, but rather because Christians teach Yeshua participates in that eternal mystery of Divinity. And as you have already seen, it seems that God is most graciously inviting His chosen people re-think their position on this subject.
Returning to our study regarding the nature of the Holy Unity, we begin by looking at the Hint God provides to us in the box aligned text. Its pretty obvious, the Name Yeshua does not intersect with Yahweh’s Name when the Name Yeshua is shown ascending but Yeshua’s Name does intersect with Yahweh’s Name when it is shown descending. According to the rabbinic method we ask ‘what does this mean?’, this should mean something – and, it does!
The Holy One, first draws us in with His broad, easy to see revelation – the ascending and descending Names Yeshua - then forces us to ask the question, ‘what can this mean? – what can this ‘dual mirrored text arrangement’ – with its linking pictograph, which says ‘ God revealed’, - mean?’ “what else is there for us to find”? This is the hint which nudges us to further to study the ‘box aligned text’ on a ‘deeper level.’ The level of Drash, i.e., allegory and typology.
What we see revealed in the box aligned text is an ascendant and a descendant relationship – a relationship within Deity which differs upon local. It is an earthly and a heavenly relationship - an eternal and a temporal relationship, a dual relationship. May He ever be Blessed! Our God is today allowing all of us at this moment, to witness that which ‘eye has never seen’ – ‘to hear that which ear has never heard!’[27]
God is revealing:
1. the ‘Word of God’ is One within Yahweh Elohim
2. the Word of God is also His ‘Begotten Son’[28]
Revealed herein the inner mystery of Divinity – that quiet and hitherto unknown relationship that is within God Alone!.
We begin with this, the very pattern which opens the revelation in the first place. This pattern is seen twice and reveals the word, ‘Word’- מילה – Meelah as being integrally and inextricably ‘One’ within Yahweh Elohim . Because the letters spelling the term Meelah are totally contained within the spelling of Yahweh Elohim, , The sages could say that a consubstantial unity exists between the Two. Both Yahweh Elohim and the ‘Word’ are One in Each Other i.e., united in Divinity – they are ‘One’, ‘echad’ אחד. [29]
As we said earlier, the pattern containing the word Meelah opens the revelation for us.
The pattern itself: Its pretty easy to see Meelah’s מילה spelling in the above ‘boxed aligned text. Notice that the pattern sequence is not an ELS pattern. Instead it begins with the letter Mem מ then it takes the next adjacent letter Yod י skips two letters to the Lamed ל then skips two letters to the letter Hey ה. To state the pattern using numbers I’d say it’s a 1,1,2,2 pattern. Since this pattern is not an ELS pattern, a bible code program would not see the phrase at all. This is an important point. God embedded His hidden Revelations into the Tanach in a variety of ways, not just ELS!It is a marvel in our eyes every time we encounter the Divine Name, YHWH ELOHIM יהוה אלהימ that the Hebrew spelling of, the word, ‘word’, Meelah – מילה is also there as well. So every time one encounters the most exalted Name of God, one also encounters His Word, מילה [30]. The Jewish sages would conclude Meelah[31] is ontologically One with YAHWEH ELOHIM and YAHWEH ELOHIM is ontologically One with (the) Word, i.e., MEELAH. To use a well worn phrase, ‘you can’t have one without the other’.
The Verbatim
The way we are using the term. Meelah ‘the word’ implies, in this regard a person hood. This is consistent with the meaning of the word Meelah. The term Meelah connotes the word, ‘word’ to mean a ‘verbatim’, i.e., an exact rendering. Therefore, that one Who is the
Word is identical in Yahweh Elohim. Meelah, ‘Word’, is a verbatim of Yahweh Elohim.
It’s easy to understand the term ‘verbatim’ when used in connection with the creation. It means, ‘a perfect and exact duplicate’. Obviously such a meaning also indicates the duplicate stands apart from the original since two objects albeit ‘identical’ objects cannot, according to the laws of physics, occupy the same space at the same time.
In eternity, however, the phrase to ‘stand apart’ loses its context since matter, energy, space and time do not exist. The laws of physics do not apply where ‘physical things’ do not exist. In this regard Yahweh Elohim and His Verbatim, His Meelah – His Word, can be naught else than perfectly one, i.e., an eternal Consubstantial Unity which is yet somehow distinct. We can say therefore, every time one encounters the most exalted Name of God, יהוה אלהימ one also encounters His Verbatim, His ‘Word’- The ‘Meelah”, מילה Which participates in ‘The Consubstantial Unity’ which is Perfect Oneness yet also ‘Perfect Oneness in Multiplicity’– namely, the Holy Paradox.
God reveals His verbatim is also His Begotten Son.
The Word of God, Meelah shown in grey, below, is inextricably connected to the phrase ‘Begotten of the Father’[32] at the letter Lamed ל and is also connected to the phrase Yahweh Elohim יהוה אלהימ at the same letter. Herein we see the revelation that the Word of God is also the Begotten of the Father and is inextricably one with Yahweh Elohim. “We believe…, in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds (æons), Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father” Nicene Creed” First Council of Constantinople – c. 381 We are beginning to see several key New Covenant[33] teachings being revealed in these two verses. A remarkable eye witness to the events of the New Covenant period is the disciple John, called ‘The Theologian’.In the origin[34] - ἀρχῇ - was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The Same was in the origin - ἀρχῇ - with God. Jn1:1-2
Many readers know what comes next in the text. John goes on to say:All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. Jn1:3So, this ‘Creator’ concept should be in the text as well – shouldn’t it? Well, it is. The solution to this puzzle is also found in that odd little yud י which should not be there (discussed at the beginning of this chapter). It is exactly this additional yud embedded into the word vayyitser which allows us to parse from vayyitser the word yyitser ייצר which means ‘to create or produce’. Look carefully at the box aligned text below and you will see that the verb ‘to create’ yyitser ייצר is revealed to be sharing letters with the phrase ‘Boy of the Father, or rather, Begotten of the Father’ and the word ‘Meelah’ – which means the Word’ – God’s eternal Verbatim.
Summarizing what has been revealed thus far. We have:
1. the ‘Word of God’ is One within Yahweh Elohim
2. the Word of God is also His ‘Begotten Son’
3. the Word of God is the creator
All of this is exactly what John had said. Of the Word John further states,…, And the Word was made[35] flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as of the only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Jn 1:14
And the Word was made flesh
And so He was, the Word became flesh. The Name by which He became known to men is, Yeshua. However, Yeshua, to the extant we can understand Him, He Who is the incarnated ‘God Man’, did not, in human flesh, participate in the origination of all things. His flesh did not exist then. Yet the Word of God and the eternally ‘Begotten of the Father’, as we have seen, participated fully within Yahweh Elohim in these activities, He is the Creator of all things, both, ‘visible and invisible’. [36]It has already been shown earlier that the God man, Yeshua, enjoys an inextricable consubstantiality with Yahweh Elohim within the precincts of temporality. Therefore, it can be asserted that Yeshua is, within the created order also One in Yahweh Elohim. He is in some fashion, ‘One within the eternal Godhead yet incarnated in time’ – another paradox. Focusing next upon the created order we can certainly see Revealed in the box aligned text Yeshua is:- the human Son of a woman
- the woman is a virgin
- the woman’s name is Miriam – Mary
- born of the house of Judah
- inextricably one and consubstantial with Yahweh
The word ‘ah – mah’, אמה, means maiden, i.e., virgin[39] and, of course the word Miriam, מרימ, is translated to mean Mary. What ties all this together is the combination of the interceptive phrase ‘Son of the woman’ connecting to the Name Yeshua and Miriam; to wit, Yeshua is the Son of the woman named Miriam. Of the woman Miriam, the last amazing item needing mention is the Name Miriam is inextricably connected to the phrase ‘virgin’![40] Yeshua is the Son of the woman who is the virgin, Mary! He, …., “…, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, and was made man”
Anti-Christian exegetes argue ah-mah means young maiden and does not imply virginity. This argument is correct and incorrect. A young Jewish maiden was required to be virgin. Also note the great Messianic prophecy of Isaiah, – a virgin will conceive – it is hardly a remarkable sign to Israel for a young woman to give birth - it is remarkable for a virgin to give birth. It is correct that the literal translation of ah-mah is ‘young woman’ not virgin. But the way the prophet uses the term definitely means ‘virgin’. In Genesis 49:10 the prophetic utterance of the patriarch Jacob declares Messiah is to come from the line of Judah. Moreover in theNew Testament, Yeshua’s ancestry is traced back to Jacob's son, Judah יהדוה, cf. the genealogies in Luke 3:23-34 and in Matthew 1:1-16. The box aligned text certainly refers to this. Yeshua was born of the line of Judah יהדוה in the precincts of Judah. Also the box aligned text has something to say about He, Who was born in Judah, in the city of David, Bethlehem. The pictograph says, He is ‘God revealed’ thus the declaration made by the angel heralding Yeshua’s birth, ‘ For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.’ Lk.2:11 is seen to be anticipated in God’s revelations found in Genesis 2:7-78 as well! Again, summarizing, Yeshua is:
- the human Son of a woman
- the woman is a virgin
- the woman’s name is Miriam – Mary
- born of the house of Judah
- inextricably one and consubstantial with Yahweh
[1] The straight read is called ‘Pashat’ by the Jewish commentators. The idea behind the pashat read is ‘what you see is what you get’ – text is to be understood literally when read at the pashat level. Pashat is the basic level of scriptural exegesis. No interpretation can be permitted which does not, in some context reflect the content of the pashat.

[8] In conversation, many Jewish people will call God "Hashem", השם, which is Hebrew for "the Name" rather than profane God by pronouncing His name.
[9] The word Adam אדמ can be used as a persons name, or to indicate humankind, man, human being or individual - the root of the word adam contains the word ‘dam’ דמ which means blood – hence adam signifies a ‘being or beings of blood’.
[10] A quick comparison reveals the two texts are identical excepting only the text on the left side does not have spaces between the letters (note: the earliest manuscripts of Genesis did not have spaces between the letters. This letter style is referred to as scriptura continua).

[19] This Mystery was spoken about by Paul in the first century. This is a notable reference in that the concept of ‘the other’ was in the mind of the Hebrew community and the followers of Yeshua at that time, i.e., it begs the question ‘to whom did God make his promise?’ if there were ‘no other’.
